ANAS held a panel discussion on the Azerbaijani-Turkish literary and educational relations

ANAS Institute of Literature after Nizami Ganjavi hosted a panel discussion on "Azerbaijani-Turkish literary and educational relations from the beginning of the 20th century to the present".

The event was held by the organizational support of the Institute of Literature, Baku Institute of Yunus Emre and Union of Turks and Related Peoples Abroad.

Opened the panel, Vice-President of ANAS, director of the Institute of Literature, academician Isa Habibbeyli noted that, the mutual ties between the two fraternal countries in the political, economic, scientific, cultural and other spheres are developing at a high level. He noted that, these ties offer opportunities for joint research by Azerbaijani and Turkish scientists and publication of their scientific works.

Remembering the quote of the national leader Heydar Aliyev "One nation - two states", the scientist noted that these countries have common roots, language, religion, a similar culture, customs and traditions. He brought to the attention that this panel helps to identify and enrich common values in the field of literature and education.

Director of the Baku Institute of Yunus Emre Cihan Ozdemir recalled that this year marks the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and the Caucasian Islamic Army and the event takes place within the framework of these events. He noted that in the twentieth century, different trends influenced the figures of literature and education of both countries, but due to their broad outlook and higher education they united around the idea of a national state and national thought.

Speaking at the event, Asif Usubaliev, director of the Scientific and Methodological Center of Cultural Studies under the Ministry of Culture, noted that the topic of the panel is relevant for the modern period. He stressed that there is a need to conduct research in this direction and this event will contribute to the development of literary, scientific and cultural ties between the two countries.

At the event were listened reports by Professor Adalat Tairzadeh on "Teachers who left Baku for Istanbul and from Istanbul to Baku", corresponding member of ANAS Misir Mardanov on "Education system in the period of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic", Professor Ramiz Asker on "Azerbaijani writers who left for Turkey" , Ph.D. Nikpur Jabbarly on "Azerbaijani-Turkish educational relations in the last century", Turkish Professor Yavuz Akpinar on "Jalal Unsy" from the point of view of Azerbaijani-Turkish relations", Assistant Professor Murad Yıldırım on "Molla Nasreddin and Turkey", Assistant Professor Yilmaz Ozgai on "New Caucasus" in the Azerbaijani- Turkish relations in the field of literary thought Azerbaijani and Turkish journals"and Omar Ozdan" Unknown name of the Azerbaijani political emigration: Efendizadeh Mehmet Sharif bey".
