Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) held conference "Hussein Javid’s heritage and Modern Period" dedicated to the 135th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet and playwright Huseyn Javid was at the on April 25.

At the event, ANAS director of the Institute of Folklore, head of the Azerbaijan literature of the Academy of Sciences, academician Mukhtar Imanov noted that, the works of the great playwright differ in their themes. As an example, he cited the works of Iblis, the Prophet, Sheikh Sanan and others covering a wide variety of topics.

Academician-secretary of the Department of Humanitarian Sciences of ANAS, director of the Institute of Manuscripts, academician Teymur Kerimli brought to the attention that the philosophical and historical views of Huseyn Javid opened a new stage in the Azerbaijani drama. Stressing the importance of promoting the playwright's legacy, the scientist noted that the study of Hussein Javid's creativity played an important role in inculcating a sense of patriotism to the younger generation.

Director of the Huseyn Javid’s Memorial Flat ANAS, doctor of philological sciences Gulbaniz Babakhanli noted that, museum is engaged in propaganda, research and systematization of the thinker's work. According to her, within the framework of the Javidology project of the museum, it is planned to publish 50 volumes of articles about the life and work of Huseyn Javid, published in the periodical press.

Noting that more than 15 thousand exhibits are kept in the Javid House Museum, G.Babakhanli informed that various local and visiting exhibitions were organized. She stressed that under the leadership of academician Kamal Abdullaev the works of Huseyn Javid were translated into different languages and distributed in European countries.

At the event professor of the Heydar Aliyev Academy under the State Security Service (JGB) Jalal Gasimov spoke about the invaluable merits of the daughter of H.Javid-Turan Javid in studying his father's work, which in his works assigned a wide place to human ideas and Turkism: "In the work of Huseyn Javid, founder of lyrical drama in Azerbaijani literature, we see a commitment to history. During the attack on the moral values of the nation, H.Javid, turning to history, created the work "The Prophet", when the Turkic history and the earth became the target, he created "Topal Teymur". In his work we become witnesses of his adherence to historical roots and devotion to the homeland. "

Further, the rector of AUA, academician Kamal Abdullayev informed the participants about the three-volume "With Love to Javid". The rector noted that H.Javid, who was a bright representative of Azerbaijani literature, was compared with the most talented Azerbaijani poets. It was noted that in 1982, on the initiative of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, the remains of the poet were brought from Siberia to their homeland.
