Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

On May 5, Azerkhalca Open Joint Stock Company hosted a national conference dedicated to the 95th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

First, participants of the conference came to the Alley of Honor to commemorate Heydar Aliyev, the national leader of our nation, the architect and founder of modern independent state, and laid flowers to his grave.

The memory of outstanding ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva was also remembered and flowers were laid on his grave.

Deputy Minister of Economy Niyazi Safarov spoke about the importance of the establishment of the " Carpet Wavers Day" professional holiday and the work carried out in the direction of development of this sphere in our country.

Academician Isa Habibbayli, vice-president of ANAS, assessed the work done in the development of carpet making as a focus on the development of Azerbaijani culture and protection of our national values, and noted that Azharkhalcha has done great work in this field. The scientist talked about the measures taken in the field of carpet weaving and told about carpet weaving.

Vidadi Muradov, Chairman of the Board of Azerkhalcha Open Joint Stock Company, said that according to the relevant order of President Ilham Aliyev, May 5 is celebrated as the " Wavers Day" professional holiday.

Professor Kubra Aliyeva, director of the Azerbaijan Carpet Museum Shirin Malikova, chief of Aghdam branch of “Azharkhalcha” Jeyran Aliyeva and others congratulated carpet- Wavers on the occasion of the event.

Then a group of handkerchiefs was awarded the honorary decree of Azerkhalcha.
