20th anniversary of Partnership Program for Peace and future prospects of NATO's partnership

By joint organization of Azerbaijan NATO School in Baku, NATO Public Diplomacy Division and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan (MFA) “20th anniversary of Partnership Program for Peace and Future Prospects of NATO’s Partnership” conference has been organized on April 11-12, 2014.

Meeting with the participation of NATO officials was chaired by Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov.

The goal is to strengthen ties between our country and NATO based on science and innovation cooperation via STEP program, to implement projects with Azerbaijan in the areas of energy security, cyber defense, global privacy (nuclear radiation, natural disasters, man-made disasters) etc.

Deputies of NATO General Secretary Sorin Dukaru spoke about some reforms have been implemented over STEP program.

Noted that, Azerbaijan is the member of NATO’s Partnership Program for Peace over 20 years. Under the program, the various institutions of ANAS have actively participated in NATO Science Program for Peace and Security, submitted projects and been awarded for grants.

Scientists are interested in NATO’s projects should apply to the International Relations Department of ANAS Central Administration of the Presidium.
