Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

"Leyli and Majnun" epos was presented at the International Mugam Center on May 24 within " Dastan night" project.

The event was organized jointly by the International Mugam Center and the Folklore Institute of ANAS.

Director of the Institute of Folklore, academician Mukhtar Imanov spoke about the significance of the project in terms of promotion of ashug art.

The project will present 8 epics by famous artists of modern ashug art till December 25.

Later, a member of Azerbaijan Ashug Union, Ashig Jahangir Guliyev, performed "Leyli and Majnun" epic.

The epic about the love of two young was met with interest by the audience.
