Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Scientifically-practical conference on "Independent Azerbaijan Republic is the heir of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic" was held in Azerbaijan Cooperative University jointly with the Institute of History of Science of ANAS.

The event started with a performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The conference was opened by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, PhD in Economics Fikret Guliyev and informed about the history of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and its important work.

Then, Zaur Aliyev, Scientific Secretary of the Institute of History, Ph.D. in Political Sciences spoke on the historical successes of the Republic. He noted that the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, founded on May 28, 1918, is one of the glorious pages of our history, being the first democratic republic in the Muslim East. The great leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev have always said that Azerbaijan Democratic Republic has an important place in the history of our country's statehood.

Other speakers at the event emphasized that the People's Republic occupied a special place in the history of Azerbaijan's statehood. The speakers spoke about the normative legal acts adopted by the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in that period.
