Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Opening ceremony of Multi-disciplinary international scientific-practical conference "Naftalan-2018" was held in Naftalan.

The 2-day event was organized by the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, High Technology Park of ANAS, Institute of Physiology and the Naftalan City Executive Authority.

First, the event participants visited the monument to National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the center of Naftalan and laid flowers.

Academician Ahliman Amiraslanov, academician-secretary of the Department of Biology and Medical Sciences of ANAS, said that information about the significant impact of Naftalan oil has been available since XII century. The application of drugs as a medicine for the treatment of various diseases in the XIX century and the use of health care facilities in our country since the 1950s has been enhanced, under the leadership of academician Yusif Mammadaliyev, SSR has conducted extensive research. At present, joint research with scientists and specialists from different fields are conducting about Naftalan oil to get more effective ways in the treatment of pathologies, scientist underlined.

Head of Executive Authority of Naftalan Rovshan Ibrahimov called the election of Naftalan city as a commendable event for the scholars and specialists from different countries to expand scientific cooperation.

Academician-secretary of the Ganja Division of ANAS, acad. Fuad Aliyev said that preparations on the basis of Naftalan oil have been prepared, and in future it is necessary to create scientific laboratories.

Acad. Director of the Institute of Petrochemical Processes named after acad. Y.Mammadaliyev, acad. Vagif Abbasov spoke about the prospects of creating new medicinal preparations based on healing oil of Naftalan. He noted that Naftalan oil, besides the analgesic effect, has significance as an effective remedy.

Director of the ANAS High Technology Park, PhD in Agrarian Sciences Vugar Babayev said that the international conference will contribute to the future activities of Naftalan oils and expansion of cooperation.

Then President of the National Association of the Republic of Kazakhstan, candidate of biological sciences Sayagul Aydarovna, chief medical sanatorium of East Europe Teodor Shtofira and others touched upon the importance of the conference.

The conference continued its work with plenary sessions. Director of the Institute of Physiology, doctor of biological sciences Ulduz Hashimova, chief physician of the Olympic Palace sanatorium of the Czech Republic, doctor of medical sciences Natalia Larina and others spoke at the plenary sessions.
