ANAS Nakhchivan Division held National Salvation Day imprinted with gold letters in the modern history of Azerbaijan on June 15.

At the event, chairman of the department, academician Ismail Hajiyev informed that, National Salvation Day was a turning point in the history of our statehood. It was said that, 25 years ago, the great leader Heydar Aliyev, having returned to political power in Azerbaijan at the insistence of the people, had undertaken a great mission of salvation and laid the foundation for the decisive stage of the future of our people and our statehood. It was this historic return that saved Azerbaijan from political games, internal conflicts, fragmentation and civil war.

Academician I.Hajiyev noted that, with the return of Heydar Aliyev to power, the basis of national salvation was laid, and June 15, 1993, as an important political event, marked the beginning of a new era in the history of the Azerbaijani people.

"Azerbaijan has become a leading country in the world today" the scientist said, adding that currently the policy established by the national leader Heydar Aliyev has been successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev and Chairman of the Supreme Mejlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov.

Then, director of the Institute of ANAS History, Ethnography and Archeology, corresponding member of ANAS Fakhraddin Safarli delivered a report on "Savior of our national statehood". The speaker noted that, the measures taken by the architect and creator of the independent Azerbaijan state Heydar Aliyev, who dedicated his entire life to the happy future of his nation, created a reliable basis for the development of all spheres. The comprehensive and rapid development of our country, its achievements in foreign policy, global projects implemented on the path to the welfare of citizens, confirm that today Azerbaijan is a mighty state.

In conclusion, director of the Institute of Bioresources, academician Tariel Talibov, director of the Institute of Art, Language and Literature, correspondent member of ANAS Abulfaz Guliyev spoke on the topic.
