Director of Philosophy Institute attends international conference "Turkic world: enlightenment and identity" in Paris

An international conference titled "Turkic world: enlightenment and identity" was held at the Cultural Center of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in France.

The event was organized by the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, with the support of embassies of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Kazakhstan in France, our permanent mission to UNESCO, the Institute of Philosophy of ANAS and the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis in France.

Referring to the importance of the theme, Gunay Efendiyeva, President of the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, said the culture and heritage of the Turkic states are an integral part of the world civilization. Turkic states have brought many innovations to the people's creativity and written literature and have achieved human success in the international arena. Historical heritage examples such as "Kitabi Dede Gorgud", "Koroglu" and "Manas" are the wealth of the entire Turkic world, and are the national monuments of the Turkic states, she emphasized.

It was noted that the Turkish culture has made a great contribution to world culture, the great personalities of the Turkic peoples - thinkers, writers and poets, have gained human achievements.

Ambassador Anar Karimov, head of the permanent representation of our country to UNESCO, spoke about the history of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, its reforms and the adoption of state symbols and touched upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict facing our country, which restored its independence in 1991. In 1993, after the national leader Heydar Aliyev returned to power, the situation in Azerbaijan stabilized, the economy was revived.

Kazakh Ambassador to France Jan Galiyev spoke about the political, economic and cultural relations between the Turkic-speaking countries and the work done in this direction in his country. The speaker spoke about "Bolashak" scholarship, initiated by President Nursultan Nazarbayev, "Public Awareness Modernization" programs related to transition to the Latin alphabet.

Afterwards, Turkish Ambassador to France Ismail Hakki Musa said that his country attaches great importance to relations with the Turkic-speaking states and has helped restore the ancient Turkish monuments in these countries. The Ambassador praised the activities of the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation and noted that these events play an important role in promoting the Turkic world at the international level.

In the second part of the conference, Dean of the Faculty of Political Science and Law of the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis Christian Vallar, Deputy Dean of the Faculty Xavier Latour, Director of the Institute of Philosophy of ANAS, Professor Ilham Mammadzadeh and Head of International Relations Department Zohra Aliyeva spoke on the identity of Azerbaijani enlightenment in the XIX-XX centuries.
