ANAS Central Scientific Library held the International Scientific Conference "History and personality of the Democratic Republic in the Azerbaijani art" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic on June 20.
At the event organized by the Institute of Architecture and Arts took part scientists from Uzbekistan, Russia, as well as employees of scientific institutions and organizations of ANAS.
Opening the conference, academician-secretary of the Department of Humanitarian Sciences, academician Teymur Karimli brought to the attention that according to the Order of AR President Ilham Aliyev this year in our country is solemnly celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic.
He has noted that, in spite of the fact that the 1st parliamentary republic in the Muslim East – ADR has existed only 23 months, important steps in the field of culture have been taken. Promotion of independence, idea of freedom, democratic values, ideology of Azerbaijanism in the ADR played a significant role in artists’ works.
Noted that, during the post-republican period was observed cultural values of the Azerbaijani people became even more enriched and rapid development of the fine arts, the scientist has in detail informed on the main achievements of the Republic, recognition of the state independence of Azerbaijan, establishment of statehood and also on persons of this era.
Further, on the topic reported director of the Institute of Architecture and Art, corresponding member of ANAS Salamzade Artegin. Based on the facts, he brought to the attention that, during the existence of the ADR important decisions were made in the field of culture. First, were restored historical and religious monuments destroyed and plundered by the Armenian Dashnaks in 1918 in Baku.
At the conference were listened and discussed reports on "State Symbols of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Ornamental Arts", "Modern Art Craft as the Basis of the National Culture of Uzbekistan", "Theater Policy of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic", "Chief Architect of the Republic - Zivarbay Ahmadbayov", "Republic in the Fine Arts" and others.
Within the framework of the event was held a presentation of the bulk of manuscripts "Works for piano", prepared on the basis of the publication by Uzeyir Hajibeyli and Muslim Magomayev - "Azerbaijani Turkic Folk Songs" (1927).
