Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Nakhchivan Division of ANAS and Nakhchivan State University hosted a scientific conference dedicated to the 90th anniversary of prominent scientist, Honored Scientist, academician Jalal Aliyev.

The event was opened by the chairman of the department, academician Ismayil Hajiyev and spoke about the life and rich scientific activity of J. Aliyev. He noted that for the first time in the history of science of Azerbaijan the prominent scientist showed great interest in the fundamental study of the process of photo-synthesis of life on the Earth and conducted fundamental researches in this direction.

Author of more than 500 scientific articles, author of more than 25 books and monographs Jalal Aliyev is well-known outside our country. He was the head of the Working Group on Interparliamentary Relations of Azerbaijan and Germany, a full member of ANAS and the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, a member of the Ukrainian Academy of Agrarian Sciences and the Belarusian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the speaker underlined.

Academician Tariyel Talibov, director of Bioresources Institute of the Division made a report on "Academician Jalal Aliyev and his significant life path", Head of Botany Department of Nakhchivan State University, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Dashgin Gambarov on "The role of Jalal Aliyev in the development of biological and agrarian science", employee of Institute of Bioresources, PhD in Agrarian Sciences, Associate Professor Parviz Fatullayev on “World famous selector scientist”. It was noted that a scientist with high intelligence has made valuable contributions to the development of biological science in contemporary Azerbaijan with its scientific activity and rich heritage. His scientific activity is mainly focused on the study of the fields that are essential for food security of our country, resulting in deeper theoretical knowledge, ideas and hard work, resulting in the emergence of new wheat varieties.
