Shaki “Silk Road” IX International Music Festival, which was co-organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Composers Union and the Shaki City Executive Authority, has been successfully completed.

During the five-day festival, music lovers, guests of the city, local residents watched dance and music groups from Turkey, Russia, Hungary and Kazakhstan as well as well-known Azerbaijani theater and musical collectives.

The solemn closing ceremony of the festival took place at the Summer Theater of Markhal recreation center on July 1.

At the event dedicated to the 25th anniversary of TURKSOY, the Azerbaijan State Folk Instruments Orchestra and the "Murager" song and dance ensemble of the Atrau State Philharmonic performed a joint concert with the participation of soloists from member countries of the international organization.

After the end of the concert program, Artistic Director of the festival, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Composers Union, People's Artist, corresponding member of ANAS Firangiz Alizadeh thanked Shaki City Executive Authority for the support.

People's Artist Agaverdi Pashayev, the artistic director of the Azerbaijan State Folk Instruments Orchestra, has been presented with a symbolic gift and a memorial gift.

Then Firangiz Alizadeh presented the commemorative medal Uzeir Hajibeyli, founded by the Union of Composers, to the Head of Shaki City Executive Authority Elkhan Usubov and TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kaseinova.
