Director of the Center for Culture and Education of Egypt Ahmed Sami Elaidi’s "Azerbaijan novel of the period of independence" book has been presented at the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi on July 18.
Speaking at the event, vice-president of ANAS, director of the Institute of Literature, academician Isa Habibbeyli spoke about the importance of the monograph of the Egyptian scientist from the point of view of studying Azerbaijani literature during the period of independence. He noted that in the book the genre of the novel in the Azerbaijani literature of the period of independence was analyzed in the context of questions of subjects, problems and skill. In the monograph, which is the fruit of serious creative research, the subject of research is literature, covering a fifteen-year period.
The book analyzed Ismail Shykhly’s “My lost world”, Aziza Jafarzade’s "Zerintang Tahir",Anar’s "White Sheep, Black Sheep” and etc.
Other speakers at the event noted that the book, consisting of three chapters and 192 pages, set the modern approach of the Egyptian scholar to Azerbaijani literature, in particular, to the genre of the novel.
In conclusion, the author of the book Ahmed Sami Elaidi expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Institute of Literature and the participants of the event.
