World Bank consultants Kanis Nurimgereyev and Professor Tomas Thomson met with director of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, correspondent member of ANAS Alovsat Guliyev.

The aim was to discuss the World Bank and the Eurasia Food Security Center's research on human capital assessment in the field of soil science in Central Africa, Central Asia and the South Caucasus and to get acquainted with the work done in this direction in Azerbaijan.

During the meeting A.Guliyev briefed the guests about the state of soil science in Azerbaijan, main directions of development, researches conducted in this field, degradation of lands and the measures taken against them and answered their questions. He noted that issues related to the development of the human capital registry in the field of agriculture in the country, soil fertilization, technical and private sector staff training, and preparation of summary information are provided.

A.Guliyev also informed about scientific researches carried out at the institute.
