The delegation headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Baku Alfredo Nieves Portuondo visited the High Technology Park of ANAS.

Director of the High Technologies Park of ANAS, Ph.D. in Economy Nazim Shukurov informed the guests about the history of the establishment and operation of the Park. It was noted that, the Park of ANAS aims to contribute to national economic development through science, technology and innovation, and the territory of the organization is exempt from taxes as a special economic zone. In addition, he supports the successful implementation of national projects aimed at expanding the innovation system and increasing investment in this area.

Ambassador of Cuba in Azerbaijan expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome. He stressed the high level of diplomatic relations between our republics. He noted that the techno parks in his country are of particular importance and are supported by the state.

He spoke about the activities of leading companies in Cuba - "Biokubafarma" and "Labiofan". He noted that, these companies, which have significant achievements in the field of pharmaceuticals, are engaged in the production of drugs that serve to destroy diabetes and cancer cells. He noted that, it is necessary to do work on establishing cooperation between these companies and the Park of BT of ANAS.

The sides also stressed the importance of expanding cooperation between the techno parks of our countries, exchanging experts and organizing mutual visits. Then the delegation got acquainted with the production areas of residents and warehouses.
