“A round table” was held within the framework "Our Republic's History is our pride " with organizational support of the Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, with the support of the Institute of History of ANAS.

Employees of Knowledge Foundation and History Institute, as well as history teachers of secondary schools in Baku, "Learning and Teaching History" Youth Club members and others attended the event organized on President Ilham Aliyev's Decree on declaring 2018 as the "Year of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic".

Executive Director of Knowledge Foundation Oktay Samadov briefed the participants about the organization he was leading. He noted that the fund was established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of May 7, 2014 and the main task is to carry out organizational and propaganda activities to increase the scientific, technical, political, social, economic, ecological and humanitarian knowledge of the population of the republic.

According to the agreement reached between the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and ANAS, that regular meetings of scientists and secondary school teachers, pupils were held, important work was done to integrate science and education. Today's event has already become a tradition, and that meetings with geography and literature teachers have been organized earlier, O.Samadov said.

Touching upon the importance of the "round table", the scientist noted that about 130 lectures on the "Year of the People's Republic of Azerbaijan" were held by the employees of the Fund at the secondary schools of the republic on Knowledge Day of the current year.

Then Deputy Director of the Institute for History of the Institute of History, PhD on History Jabi Bahramov's report on "Our Republic's History in the Schoolchildren's Audience" was listened. The scientist said that the ADR has rich experience in state-building and has put an endless track in the history of national statehood, enhances freedom and independence in the hearts of the people and creates a sound basis for future independence of our country.

ADR during the 23 months of the existence based on the principles of the rule of the people and the people, which eliminated race, nationality, religion and class inequality, historian noted.

J.Bahramov underlined that the employees of the Institute of History have systematically researched the ADR since 1945 and that the country's history has been falsified and destroyed.

The report was welcomed by the participants and the questions were answered.

Then the participants of the round table answered the survey questionnaire on the subject of history teaching.

Within the framework of the event, new publications reflecting our history of the republic were also demonstrated.
