Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The presentation of the book "General Earth science " (in Russian) was held by the leading researcher of Geomorphology and Natural Risks Department of Geography Institute named after academician Hasan Aliyev of ANAS, PhD on geography, assistant professor of Sitara Tarikhazer.

Chief scientific editor of the book is, the president of ANAS, academician Akif Alizadeh, scientific editor is academician Ramiz Mammadov, director of the institute.

Ramiz Mammadov opened the event at the International Press Center and noted that the book deals with the subject, objects and tasks of the general geography, provides detailed information on the structure and conditions of the Earth, as well as the characteristics of the geosphere.

He noted that the textbook has been among the books tought at higher education institutions last century, which would be useful for students and masters.

Later on, Tarikhazer said that the book is the first teaching material for higher education in terms of systematic approach to geography study. Scientist said that the latest information was collected in the finishing of 10 years, giving new geographical terms and explanations of terms.

PhDs on geography - Habil Hagverdiyev, Aydin Safarov, PhD in Agrarian Anvar Aliyev and others spoke about the importance of publication of the textbook and expressed the importance of its translation into Azerbaijani.
