ANAS Nakhchivan Division  and the Ministry of Education of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic held an “Interactive open lesson”

Head of the Department of Literary Studies of the Institute of Art, Language and Literature, Ph.D in Philology, Associate Professor Ramiz Gasimov informed students about the life and activity of the outstanding representative of romanticism of the twentieth century, playwright Huseyn Javid.

Huseyn Javid was born on October 24, 1882 in the ancient center of culture and civilization, Nakhchivan. R.Gasimov informed that, H.Javid was also involved in political activities. He actively participated in the work of the Araz Turkic Republic, established in Nakhchivan during the times of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic.

It was emphasized that, Huseyn Javid, having a rich work, began with lyrical poems, he wrote his poems under the pseudonym "Gulchin", "Salik". With his works "Iblis", "Prophet", "Sheikh Sanan", etc. Huseyn Javid occupied an honorable place in Azerbaijani literature.

He created more than 20 plays until 1937, laid the foundation for the genre of poetic drama in Azerbaijani literature, philosophy and historical tragedies, reflected in his works, marked the beginning of a new period in domestic drama and influenced the development of the national theater.

The Associate Professor recalled the great merits of national leader Heydar Aliyev in reviving the images of Javid in the minds and worldview of the new generation.

It was noted that, in 1982, by the initiative of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, the remains of the poet were brought from Russsia to their homeland and buried in the native land of Nakhchivan which became a significant event for the national literature, culture, for the people as a whole.

Having said that, the national leader Heydar Aliyev has always highly appreciated the literary heritage of the classic, today this attention caread out by head of state Ilham Aliyev, as evidenced by the signing of the Order to hold the 135th anniversary of the great poet and playwright at the state level.
