Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

A copy of the manuscript of the translation into Azerbaijan by Seyid Huseyn, the work “Ajaib al-Maqdur”, dedicated to the government of Amir Teymour and written by the historian Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Arabshakhin (1392-1450) was obtained.

The sample was obtained from the library of Majlid Teheran, by Deputy Director for scientific affairs of ANAS Institute of Manuscripts, Doctor of Philology Pasha Karimov.

Note that, Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Arabshakhin was born in 1392 in Damascus. In childhood he was transported by Amir Teymour to Samarkand. After Amir Teymour death, he left Samarkand and worked at the court of the Ottoman emperor Mehmedin I. Then, wrote the work "Ajaib al-Maqdur". In 1636, work was published in Arabic in Leiden, in French in 1658, in Paris.

The 141 pages handwritten translation by Seyid Huseyn from the paleographic point of view can be referred to the 18th century.
