Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Delegation of ANAS Institute of Botany were invited to the working assembly to be held in Berlin with participation of leading botanical institutions of the Caucasus countries, representatives of the Institute of Botany, Botanical Garden and Botanical Museum Berlin-Dahlem (BBBM), as well as with Volkswagen Foundation in Berlin (Germany).

Results of implemented researches joint with BBBM by support of Volkswagen Foundation, done scientific-research and organizing works, as well as obtained results have been discussed. Achievements of the institute obtained during the project have been delivered by the director of the institute Dr. Biology prof. Valida Alizadeh and chief of Scientific Information and innovation department PhD in biology Esmira Alirzayeva.

Within the framework of project infrastructure of rich Herbarium fund of the Botanical Institute has been renewed, database for valuable collection be created and connected to the network for online usage, vehicle was presented to the institute to conduct experiments in the rural areas of the highest mountains.

Attending in the discussions head of Embryophyte Systematics department PhD in biology Vugar Karimov suggested investigation of some rare plant types of Azerbaijan at the modern level.
