Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

ANAS National Museum of Azerbaijan History held the event on "Admiral Javadov. Life, War and Service" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the 1st Rear Admiral of Azerbaijan - Jalil Javadov.

The event was attended by the Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan, Abulfaz Garayev, representatives of the AR Ministry of Defense, AR Ministry of Defense Azerbaijan Military Academy, Azerbaijan Higher Military School after Heydar Aliyev, Azerbaijan Military History Museum, as well as a number of organizations, military historians and members of the admiral’s family.

Opening the conference, Director of the museum, academician Naila Velikhanli told about Admiral Jalil Javadov’s life and service. Academician noted that, the propaganda and study of D.Javadov’s life is a significant moment for our history. Further, Ph.D in history, associate professor Sabuhi Ahmadov delivered a paper on “The First Admiral of Azerbaijan”.

Chief of the Department of Moral-Psychological Preparedness and Public Relations of AR Ministry of Defense, Major General Rasim Aliyev spoke on Admiral Jalil Javadov's path in battle during 2nd World War.

Captain First Rank of reserve, Professor of Military Academy of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan Nurulla Aliyev said that, Admiral had a unique place in the military history of Azerbaijan, he noted that, it is important to study military service on the Black Sea, the North Sea, the Baltic Sea, as well as on the Danube River.

The museum presents an exhibition of more than 50 exhibits, reflecting the life of Admiral Jalil Javadov, as well as Kid's drawings -"Our First Admiral". Then, PhD in History, associate professor Sabuhi Ahmadov presented "Admiral Javadov. Life, War and Service" book.

At the end of the event, participants were awarded with certificate of appreciation and souvenirs.
