Corresponding Member of ANAS Nuriev Ali is 90

State Prize Laureate, Honored Scientist, Head of the Department and Laboratory of the Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry, a specialist in the field of chemistry of rare, scattered and radioactive elements of inorganic chemistry, corresponding member of ANAS Nuriev Ali is 90 on December 29.

Nuriev Ali Najafgulu oglu was born on December 29, 1928 in the Nehram village of the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan. After graduating from the 7th grade of the secondary school of the village of Nehram in 1944, he entered the Nakhchivan Medical College at the end of which he worked as a medical assistant at the Nakhchivan City Hospital.

In 1948 he entered the chemical faculty of the Azerbaijan State University and from the third year was sent to the chemical faculty of the State University, located in Gorky (now Nizhny Novgorod). In 1953, he graduated from the Faculty of Analytical Chemistry and began his career as Head of the Technical Control Department at the Sumgait Rubber Plant.

But his desire for science led him in 1954 to the Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry, where he worked as a junior, and then as a senior research associate. From 1971 to the present day, he heads the Department of sorption processes, as well as the laboratory of "Inorganic Synthetic Sorbents".

In 1962 he defended PhD degree, in 1972 he was awarded the title of Doctor of Science, in 2007 he was elected as corresponding member of ANAS. In 1980-1985, Professor A.Nuriev was Deputy Director of the Institute and also headed the Nakhchivan Scientific Center.

Technologies have been prepared for the production of edible salt from reservoir oil and carbon dioxide from mineral waters. In the field of disperse systems, purification of toxic organic substances from wastewater was achieved using effective sorbents.

He has developed a complex processing of the Darydag thermal water to obtain boron, arsenic and carbon dioxide. On the basis of the technology noted a plant for the production of carbon dioxide was built.

The results of research conducted by the scientist are reflected in 3 monographs, 306 scientific works, including 16 copyright certificates and 3 patents. Under his leadership, defended 14 PhDs of science and 3 doctors of science, successfully developing a scientific area, known as the school of Ali Nuriev.

Congratulations Nuriev Ali on his 90th jubilee, wish him good health and success in his scientific activity!
