Since 2013, the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of ANAS and the Institute of Prehistoric Asian Archeology of Munich Ludwig-Maximilians University of Germany have conducted archeological researches in Garajemirli village of Shamkir region and surrounding areas. Archaeological researches continue in the palace belonging to the V-IV centuries, as well as the registration of other new monuments in the Shamkir region and the exploration-excavations at these monuments.

Ludwig-Maximilians University, Institute of Near Eastern archaeology, Faculty of Cultural studies, Department of Ancient and modern cultures Dr. Kai Kaniuth and Michaela Schauer are conducting joint research at the Archaeological Fund of the Institute of Archeology Ethnography of ANAS.
According to Dr. Kai Kaniuth and Michaela Schauer, ceramic samples found in monuments in Shamkir are researched by Handheld X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometer. Devices allow for accurate and comprehensive information on the ceramic production technology of the ancient population of Azerbaijan.
K. Kaniuth also got acquainted with the reports of archaeological excavations on Azerbaijan's Early Iron - Antique Studies in the Scientific Archives of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of ANAS. The results of scientific researches will be published in the most influential collections of the world and will be reflected in special scientific works on archeological researches carried out in Azerbaijan.
The level of modern archaeological research is measured by the results of archaeometric surveys. From this point of view, the research of German colleagues is important for the recognition of achievements of Azerbaijani archeology in the world, Head of International Expedition, Ph.D. in history Emil Iskenderov said.
