Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

The Ministry of Culture of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) presented 21 manuscripts and old printed books to ANAS Manuscript Fund of the Nakhchivan Division.

During the event, chairman of the Division, academician Ismail Hajiyev, in his speech briefly spoke about work on collecting manuscripts and printed books covering various historical periods. The scientist noted that, part of the copies keept at the Fund was donated by chairman of the Supreme Majlis of NAR.

It was also brought to the attention that, the materials collected in the region were donated to the Department’s Fund by the Ministry of Culture.

NAR Minister of Culture Natavan Gadimova spoke on the importance of the measures being implemented to preserve and convey to future generations the history, culture and traditions of the people.

She noted that, in accordance with the order of chairman of NAR Supreme Majlis “On the organization of work on the protection and certification of historical and cultural monuments in the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan” dated December 6, 2005, 1,300 historical monuments passed certification on the territory of the Autonomous Republic.

N.Gadimova added that, over the past year the Ministry of Culture has presented 1,565 exhibits to cultural institutions. The collection of material samples of historical significance continues today.

Further, Director of the Manuscripts Foundation, Ph.D. in Philology Farman Khalilov informed the participants on new manuscripts and books added to the Fund.
