Academician Tagiev Bahadir, a famous scientist in the area of semiconductors, State Prize Laureate, owner of the “Shohrat” Order, chief of the Department of General and Applied Physics of the National Aviation Academy is 85th on March 13.

Tagiev Bahadir Husein oglu was born on March 13, 1934 in Masalli district, Azerbaijan Republic. In 1956 he graduated from the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical Institute with a degree in Physics.

The scientist began his career at the Institute of Physics of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences, worked as a PhD student, researcher, and head of a laboratory.

In 1996-2009 he was Acting Professor at the National Aviation Academy. From 2009 to the present he is the chief of the Department of General and Applied Physics.

In 1965, he received a Ph.D. in Physics, in 1978 - a doctoral degree, in 1984 -Professor. In 2001 he was elected as corresponding member of ANAS, and in 2014 - active member.

The connection between the injection mechanism and thermoelectronic ionization for elementary (selenium) and complex (GaSe, Ga2 Se3, EuGa2Se4, CaGa2 S4 və s), having different crystal structure (chain , layered, cubic) have been determined at the temperature interval 77-300 K , in high electric field.

Electrets photoelectric effect has been absorbed, caused by capturing the injected captives from the deep lying traps and wide band gap semiconductors. On the basis of these effects different type of transformers have been constructed. Effective green, yellow, blue and red emission were abserved on the basis of inner-atomic transition at CaGa2S4 doped with rare earth elements. The luminescent lamps were fabricated at “Azelectrosvet”by using these materials. Together with Japanese scientists for the first time in the world – the basics have been created by using CaGa2S4: Eu2 +.

Academician Tagiev Bahadir is the author of 350 scientific articles, 40 copyright certificates and patents. Under his leadership were trained 30 PhDs and 10 Doctors of science.

He was awarded the medals "Badge of Honor" for his activity in the scientific area, "For valiant service", he was awarded the State Prize and the owner of the Order "Shohrat".
