ANAS High Technologies Park held second day of “Science Week” on March 12. The event demonstrated the activities of the High Technologies Park, as well as important scientific discoveries, including innovative ideas from scientific institutions and organizations that are part of ANAS Earth Sciences Division.

The ceremony was attended by Director of the Institute of Geography, Academician Ramiz Mammadov, Deputy Director for scientific affairs of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, corresponding member of ANAS Dadash Huseinov, Director of the Museum of Natural History, Ph.D. in Biology Tariel Eybatov, representatives of the Institute of Oil and Gas and the Republican Seismic Survey Center, as well as teachers and students of universities of the republic.

Opened the event, Ph.D. in Economy Nazim Shukurov referring the Order on the establishment of the Day of Science in the country, the head of state Ilham Aliyev and spoke about the tasks set by the President of ANAS, academician Akif Alizadeh in accordance with this decree.

He noted that, within the framework of the Science Week, conferences and exhibitions were organized by scientific departments, as well as reports and presentations on priority topics from scientists, a demonstration of projects reflecting innovations and inventions. On the last day of the “Science Week” on three competitions - “The Best Innovative Idea”, “The Best Innovative Project” and “The Best Innovative Product” the winners will be announced.

Then, Head of the Patent, Certification, Marketing and Business Department Vusal Suleymanli of the Park delivered paper on the activities process of the Park. He noted that, the Park was created by decree of AR President Ilham Aliyev dated November 8, 2016. The purpose of the creation of the Park of High Technologies of ANAS is to increase government support in such areas as sustainable development of the economy and increasing its competitiveness, expanding areas of modern scientific and technological innovation and high technology.

The Expert Council developed a business plan for the successful application of new ideas, feasibility studies, market sales, and also provided support for the definition of marketing. On the territory of the Park, favorable conditions have been created for those who wish to do business. Today, there are 10 residents operating on the territory of the Park, military and civilian products, body armor, unmanned aerial vehicles, batteries, lubricating oils are produced here. In addition, patent banks have been created, and today they are working on their commercialization.

Further, the institutes of Geology and Geophysics, Oil and Gas, Geography, Seismic Survey Center, Museum of Natural History, Baku Higher School of Oil and the National Aviation Academy demonstrated presentations.

Next, a business tour on the territory of the Park was organized for guests. The guests got acquainted with the production process and products of residents.
