Awarding ceremony of the winners of the competition, dedicated to the Day of Science was held at Baku State University (BSU).

Rector of the University, Ph.D. Elchin Babayev spoke about the importance of "Science Day" established by the relevant decree of President Ilham Aliyev and the state care for the development of science in the country.

Rector of the BSU informed about the contest hold together with “Clarivate Analytics”. E.Babayev said that different approaches will be applied in the coming years and the principle of excellence in the activities of scientists will be given priority, and he has stated his goal of transforming BSU into a research university.

Academician-Secretary of ANAS, Director of the Institute of Information Technology, academician Rasim Alguliyev spoke about the care and attention paid to the Azerbaijani science and the role of the 100-year-old Baku State University in the formation of the intellectual generation.

Then the names of the winners were announced. Professor Arif Gasimova, Professor of the Chair of Arabian Philology of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Professor Arif Salimov, Head of the Algebra and Geometry Department of Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty of Natural Sciences, Senior Research Fellow of the Physics Problems Scientific Research Laboratory, Associate Professor Shahin Aghayev, Ecological Chemistry and Environmental Chemistry Faculty of Ecology and Soil Science Associate Professor Kamran Mahmudov, Senior Research Fellow of X-ray Structure Analysis Laboratory of Chemistry Faculty, and Flora Hajiyeva, Associate Professor of the Department of Chemical Physics of Nanomaterials, Faculty of Physics, distinguished among 35 researchers and won the contest.

The winners were awarded certificates.
