Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry named after M. Nagiyev (ICIC) of ANAS and Institute for Polymers, Composites and Biomaterials of Italian National Research Council (INRC) held joint Azerbaijan-Italy Science Seminar on Innovative Polymers at the institute.
The seminar was attended by academics of the Institute of Polymer Materials, Petrochemical Processes, Physics and Biophysics of ANAS.
Vice-President of the ANAS, academician Dilgam Tagiyev said that the two countries have close ties in the political, economic, cultural and other spheres, and the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Italy is increasing.
Touching upon the scientific relations, the academician said that cooperation agreements between the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan and the National Research Council of Italy were signed and joint research programs were announced.
The scientist stressed the importance of seminars, which will last two days, in terms of strengthening relations in the field of chemistry.
Later, Professor Luigi Ambrosio, Director of the Institute for Polymers, Composites and Biomaterials, delivered information to the event participants. He said that there are about 300 institutes, laboratories and scientific research institutes in the balance of the board established in 1923 and cooperate with about 1000 institutions.
Later L. Ambrosio’s "Advanced biomaterials and technologies for future health", an employee of the Institute for Polymers, Composites and Biomaterials Maria Grazia Raucci’s "Injectabletherapeutic biomaterials for bone repair and regeneration" and leading researcher at the Catalysis and Organic Chemistry Institute, PhD in chemistry, docent Shamo Tapdigov's report on "Chitosan - as a perfect carrier of bioactive molecules in medicine" has been listened and wide discussions have been held.
