Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Academician Ibrahim Guliyev, vice-president of ANAS, visited the Russian Federation. During the visit, the Azerbaijani scientist met with the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, academician Alexander Sergeyev.

Initially, academician A.Sergeyev spoke about the activity of the RAS last year. He underlined that cooperation between the two academies of science was strengthened, and expressed confidence that the activity will continue in this direction.

Academician I.Guliyev thanked the leadership of the RAS for the sincere reception. He informed about the development stages of ANAS and the researches carried out in the modern period. It was noted that the ANAS, which is over 70 years, has made significant contributions to the development of science in the country for many years and has grown up by many scientists and specialists. At present, a new stage of development is being carried out at the ANAS.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the developmental mechanisms and perspectives of cooperation in the field of fundamental and applied sciences. The importance of the document on cooperation between the academies of both countries was emphasized.

The meeting was attended by the Vice President of the RAS, academician Talia Khabriyeva, the head of the Foreign Relations Department Olga Gluhovtseva and others.
