Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

The next meeting of the European Geosciences Union General Assembly (EGU - 2019) was held in Vienna, the capital of Austria.

Academician-Secretary of the Division of Earth Sciences of ANAS, academician Fakhraddin Gadirov, employees of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, PhDs on Earth Sciences - Rafig Safarov, Nigar Garagozova, Tofig Rashidov and Orkhan Abbasov represented our country at the meeting attended by scientists from USA, Europe, Japan and China .

The Azerbaijani delegation got acquainted with the latest achievements of world scientists in geology and geophysics, as well as presented their scientific reports.

In addition, Professor R. Reineer, Professor of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the participants of the international project on "kinematics and geodynamics of the Mediterranean and Caucasus region" discussed the future joint research directions. At the same time, meetings were held with Professor of Istanbul Technical University, prominent geologist Jalal Shengor and professor of Tel Aviv University L.Eppelbaum.

The delegation also got acquainted with the exhibition of new equipment in geology and geophysics organized within the framework of the conference.
