A round table on "Philosophical Thought of Azerbaijani History and Contemporary Period "

A round table on "Philosophical Thought of Azerbaijani History and Contemporary Period " was held at the Institute of Philosophy of ANAS.

The event, dedicated to the discussion of the head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev’s book"The Political Heritage of the Khanates in the light of documents" was attended by members of parliament, the scientific community and mass media.

Director of the Institute, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Ilham Mammadzadeh said that academician Ramiz Mehdiyev's books on the recent history of Azerbaijan - Shah Ismail Khatai, Nadir Shah Afshar, ADR-Iran diplomatic relations, Nagorno-Karabakh and other issues are a valuable source for our history. He noted that the essence of the history of Azerbaijan has been studied in the works of the academician, its meaning and content have been discovered, and rare historical documents and new sources have been included in the scientific circulation.

MP Ganira Pashayeva, academician-secretary of Social Sciences Department of ANAS, academician Nargiz Akhundova, deputy director on general affairs of Philosophy Institute Gabil Jamalov, PhDs - Fuzuli Gurbanov, Alikram Tagiyev, Arif Bunyadov and PhD on philosophy Faig Alakbarli said that the period of khanates occupied an important place in the history of Azerbaijan. In addition, it was noted that the history of Azerbaijan was distorted during the USSR, highlighted the historical truth of the publication and its importance in terms of enlightenment of society, especially young people.

Later PhD in Philosophy Eynulla Madatli and doctor of philosophical sciences, Professor Rena Mirzazadeh’s reports were listened.
