ANAS Institute of Law and Human Rights held a round table on “Scientific-theoretical analysis of the Decree "On the deepening of reforms in the judicial system", signed by AR President Ilham Aliyev dated April 3, 2019”.
The event was attended by deputies of relevant committees of the Milli Majlis, representatives of the Academy of Justice of the Ministry of Justice, the Center for Science and Education of the General Prosecutor's Office, representatives of the scientific community and the media.
Director of the Institute, Doctor of Law Ayten Mustafazadeh, opened the meeting, said that, the Decree was signed to improve the quality and effectiveness of the justice system in our country. The document will further expand the possibilities of going to court, increase transparency in the activities of courts, increase the efficiency of court proceedings, ensure full and timely implementation of court decisions, strengthen measures taken to eliminate red tape and other negative phenomena.
The decree also stipulates that in order to ensure the effective operation of justice mechanisms, it is necessary to improve the social protection of judges and members of the judiciary, to continue work on updating the relevant infrastructure, to fully take advantage of the use of modern information technologies in court proceedings.
A.Mustafazade said that a new stage in the development of the judicial and legal system has begun in the country, and the Decree will enhance the authority of the judiciary in our country. And emphasizing the need to use the potential of scientists in this direction, she added that at present the institute is conducting research on human rights and freedoms, as well as medical law and artificial intelligence.
During the event, deputies Gudrat Hasanguliyev, Fazil Mustafa, Elman Nasirli, heads of departments of the Institute of Law and Human Rights Ramin Gurbanov, Aykhan Rustamzade, Doctor of Law, Professor Nasim Jafarli also spoke and expressed their recommendations on the issue.
