Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

A scientific conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the People's writer Huseyn Ibrahimov was held at the Institute of Literature named after N.Ganjavi of ANAS with the participation of students of the Baku Eurasian University.

The event was opened by Vice-President of the ANAS, academician Isa Habibbayli and informed that the conference was held under the Presidential Decree dated 18 May 2019 "On celebrating the 100th anniversary of Hussein Ibrahimov”.

In his speech, he spoke about H.Ibrahimov's position in the history of Azerbaijan literature and his rich artistic creativity. H.Ibrahimov, who is a prominent representative of the Azerbaijani prose and chosen by his unique creative style, made significant contributions to the development of our modern literature with stories, narratives, novels and plays, he said.

He recalled that the work of the writer was repeatedly awarded by the national leader Heydar Aliyev, awarded with the Order of Glory in 1994, and was awarded the title of People's Writer in 1998.

He underlined the need for more thorough research of H.Ibrahimov's heritage and the need to write monographs devoted to the writer today.

Then, Head of the General Philology Department of Baku Eurasian University Doctor of Philology, Associate Professor Elmira Mammadova, spoke about the mutual relations between the two organizations and highly appreciated the conference.

Head of the literary criticism department of the Institute of Literature, Doctor of Philology Vagif Yusifly's report on the theme "People's writer Huseyn Ibrahimov" was listened at the event.
