Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

On June 11was held Scientific session dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic at the Institute of Oriental Studies.

Then vice-president of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbeyli emphasized special place of Nakhchivan in the history of Azerbaijani statehood. In different periods of history Nakhchivan fought for preservation and strengthening of the south-western areas of Azerbaijan, he noted.

Academician informed about the ancient history, culture and contemporary development, Gamigaya international expedition.

Then, " Nakhchivan at the end of the sixteenth century according to Ottoman documents”, “, Fakhraddin Hindushah Nakhchivani and Muhammad bin Hindushah Nakhchivani’s services in the field of lexicography” reports were listened.
