Presentation of the monograph “Epigraphic monuments of the Nakhchivan” by Director of the Institute of History, Ethnography and Archeology of the Nakhchivan Division, corresponding member of ANAS Fakhraddin Safarli was held.Chairman of the department, academician Ismail Hajiyev informed about epigraphic monuments of Nakhchivan. He said that, although there were many epigraphic monuments in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, they were not systematically investigated until the period of independence.

Academician stressed that, today, by the state support a number of works have been carried out on the protection, restoration and distribution of historical monuments, including architectural samples.

According to him, by order of the chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Autonomous Republic dated December 6, 2005 "On the protection and certification of historical and cultural monuments in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic"since 2006 monuments in the region are systematically studied.

Further, head of the Department of the Institute, PhD in History, assistant professor Ilhami Aliyev delivered a paper on “A few words about the book of epigraphic monuments of Nakhchivan”.

He noted that, the book contains several written monuments, previously studied by researchers, but for some reason that has not survived to our days. According to him, text translations of the inscriptions into the Azerbaijani language and their images were included in the publication.

At the presentation, Department heads, Ph.Ds in History - Asaf Orujov and Togrul Khalilov told about the scientific value of the monograph.

In conclusion, the author thanked the organizers and participants of the event.
