As part of a series of measures to implement the Order of AR President Ilham Aliyev to hold the 650th anniversary of the great poet and thinker Imadaddin Nasimi on June 19 in Belgrade, a scientific symposium was held in Belgrade at the Center for Azerbaijani Language and Culture, opened last April, organized by the Serbian Royal Academy.
During the event, Serbian and Azerbaijani experts were awarded jubilee medals "Nasimi-650" and "Ivo Andric", which were established by the Serbian Royal Academy on February 20 of this year.
Rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages, academician Kamal Abdullayev, Academic-Secretary of the Division of Humanitarian Sciences, academician Teymur Karimli , Head of the World Literature Department of Baku State University, Professor Jalil Naghiyev, member of the Writers' Union of Azerbaijan, Honored Journalist Alovsat Agalarov, Chairman of the Center for Literary Translation and Literary Relations writers of Azerbaijan Salim Babullaoglu, deputy director of the Institute of Manuscripts after Muhammad Fuzuli of ANAS, Doctor of Philology Pasha Karimov, deputy of the Milli Majlis Javanshir Feyziev was awarded the “Ivo Andric” medal for his contribution to the strengthening of Serbian-Azerbaijani friendship and cooperation.
At the same time, a number of representatives of Serbia were awarded the anniversary medal "Nasimi-650" for their contribution to the propaganda of the history and culture of Azerbaijan in Serbia.
