A scientific session dedicated to the 650th anniversary of Nasimi in Shamakhi

The scientific session devoted to the 650th anniversary of eminent Azerbaijani poet Imadeddin Nasimi was held in Shamakhi on June 22, jointly organized by Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi and Executive Power of Shamakhi region.

First, participants of the event visited the monument to nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev in Shamakhi.  

Head of Executive Power of Shamakhi Tahir Mammadov spoke about Shamakhi's ancient history, great artists and spoke about literary creativity and philosophical views of the great thinker Imadeddin Nasimi. He pointed out that President Ilham Aliyev's orders to celebrate the 650th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet Imadeddin Nasimi and proclaim the Year of Nasimi in 2019 in Azerbaijan are a vivid example of our care and attention to our literature.

Then Vice President of ANAS, Director of the Institute of Literature, academician Isa Habibbayli spoke about the importance of the scientific session held with the participation of Pakistani guests in the homeland of great Azerbaijani poet Imadeddin Nasimi.

Isa Habibbayli reminded that on the initiative of national leader Heydar Aliyev, 600 years anniversary of Imadeddin Nasimi was included in the list of events of UNESCO and was celebrated on the international scale in 1973.

Academician Isa Habibbayli emphasized the necessity of the further study of the works of the writer today. He noted that the Literature Institute prepared a monograph "Great Azerbaijan poet Imadeddin Nasimi" and will be published throughout the year.

Prof. Gazanfar Pashayev, Doctor of Philology, Associate Professor, Farida Azizova, Doctor of Philology, Rahim Aliyev, PhD on  Philology, Zakulla Bayramli made reports at the event.
