Scientific Conference on "Azerbaijan" Newspaper: Mirror of Our History "was held on June 27 in the Main building of ANAS jointly organized by "Azerbaijan" newspaper and Institute of History.

"100 years old Azerbaijan" book also has been presented in the event.

The conference was opened by the director of the institute, academician Yagub Mahmudov and said that the materials published in the newspaper "Azerbaijan" played an important role in studying the history of the Republic. He noted that the first issue of the newspaper was published on September 15, 1918 in the Ganja governor's office and until 1920 it broadly reflected the socio-political, economic and cultural life of Azerbaijan.

Jeyhun bey Hajibeyli, Shafi bay Rustambeyli, Khalil Ibrahim and Uzeyir bey Hajibeyli were chief editors of the "Azerbaijan" newspaper.

Then the editor-in-chief of "Azerbaijan" newspaper Bakhtiyar Sadigov made a report on "The objective chronicler and reliable archive of our time". He noted that the newspaper, which perpetuates the chronicles of development of independent Azerbaijan on its pages, is an unofficial symbol of our country's independence. According to him, "Azerbaijan" newspaper played an important role in the history of our country, its development and preservation of the national moral values ​​of our people. National leader Heydar Aliyev has always been in touch with our editorial staff and has made a personal contribution to our professionalism with advice, advice and suggestions. The great leader and President Ilham Aliyev have sent a letter of congratulation to the newspaper collective at different times, the speaker added.

Then Sadigov donated the periodical of the "Azerbaijan" newspaper to the Institute of History in electronic version.

Doctor of history Tofiq Najafli and Ph.D. in history Jabi Bahramov, Ph.D. in history Vagif Abishov and others made reports at the event.
