Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Director of the Institute of Genetic Resources of ANAS, corresponding member of ANAS Zeinal Akperov and Deputy Director for scientific work of institute, PhD in biology Mehradzh Abbasov were attended in the I International and XIII Iranian National conference on field crops,which took place in Karaj,Islamic Republic of Iran. In the action devoted to the 100th anniversary of the world famous scientist, Nobel Prize winner Norman Borlaug the scientists and experts from USA, Australia, France, South Africa, Pakistan, India and other countries were participated. At conference Z.Akperov made the report on “Protection and rational use vegetable genetic resources of Azerbaijan”. At the end of the conference there was an exchange of views between scientists and the leadership of the Iranian Biotechnology Research Institute of Agriculture and the Iranian National genebank, identified priorities in the direction of joint research. Within meetings was reached the agreement on signing of the contract on cooperation between the Iranian biotechnology research institute of Agriculture and ANAS Institute of Genetic Resources.
