Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Today, the second special section of the Presidium of ANAS hosted a seminar-lesson dedicated to the 101st anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan.

Head of the Department of Civil Defense (DCF) Eldar Guliyev opened the event and informed about the issues on the agenda.

E. Guliyev provided the Civil Defense Seminar, Workshop and other measures on the implementation of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On the application of the Civil Defense Act of the Republic of Azerbaijan" dated April 18, 1998, the Cabinet of Ministers "On Civil Protection" dated September 25, 1998 No. 193 of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) and the Academy's Action Plan.

Referring to the topic of the seminar, E.Guliyev noted that the National Army, formed by the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR), on June 26, 1918, has achieved a lot of success, protected the population from the Armenian-Bolshevik massacres, and has supported the Caucasian Islamic Army with the liberation of Baku from occupation.

Then Deputy Director of the Institute of History, Doctor of History Jabi Bahramov made a speech on the occasion of the 101st anniversary of the establishment of the National Army of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

According to the Order of the National Leader on May 22, 1998, the Day of Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan was proclaimed on June 26 as the Day of Azerbaijan Army.

In recent years, important steps have been taken in the direction of army building under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev and the professional cadres are trained in our country, Armed Forces were equipped with the most modern weapons and 52th place among the world's military, the speaker noted.

After the talk, discussions were held on the subject.

At the end a number of current issues were considered.
