The presentation of Nagorno Karabakh: history read through sources” book authored by Head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration, active member of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev was held at an enlarged meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of History of ANAS.

“The book was published in Moscow, the capital of one of the OSCE Minsk Group member state. This book is a great victory of our historical study. One of the main advantages of the book is that all successes of our history and science are protected with great courage and through scientific evidences,” he said.

Corresponding member Yagub Mahmudov added that Ramiz Mehdiyev also expressed the state’s opinion through his “Nagorno Karabakh: history read through sources” book.

“We will offer the book to be translated into other languages so that the world scientific community becomes more familiar with the historical facts of Azerbaijan. Because the book also proves that Armenian people are newcomers”, he said.

Making speeches at the meeting, MP Fezail Ibrahimli, Dr. history prof. Tofig Mustafazadeh, historians Tofig Najafli, Jabi Bahramov and others regarded the book as a great achievement of Azerbaijan’s historical study in recent years.

The book has been devoted to the historical background of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

The book shows the causes of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the region’s belonging to the Azerbaijani states throughout the history.
