Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The author of the new edition “Mathematics of Azerbaijan” is a Director of ANAS Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics, corresponding member of ANAS Misir Mardanov. The scientific editor of the book is the rector of the Khazar University, Doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, Professor Hamlet Isakhanli.

The book contains information about 12 academicians, 14 corresponding members of ANAS, 177 doctors of sciences and professors. The reference book provides bibliographic information about scientists who from ancient times played an important role in the development of mathematical science in Azerbaijan.

The publication chronologically interprets the great Azerbaijani scientist and encyclopedist of the Middle Ages Nasiraddin Tusi, who made an invaluable contribution to the global treasury of science, the stages of the formation of the pre-scientific environment, historical facts illustrating the main problems under study, Tusi’s predecessors and some of his successors who laid the foundations of mathematicians in our country in the XX-XXI centuries and who played an important role in its development.

The book is intended for scientists, teachers of mathematics, students and a wide range of readers interested in the history of mathematics.
