Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

ANAS Council of Young Scientists and Specialists held an event at ANAS Main Building to educate and promote 3rd Republican Innovation Competition.

It should be noted that, the competition was announced jointly by the Ministries of Economy, Transport, Communications and High Technologies, Culture, State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, the branch of the company Ernst & Yanq Holdinqs (SiAyEs) Bi.Vi in Azerbaijan, the Representative Office of the United Nations Development Program in Azerbaijan.

The purpose of the competition is to promote the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, encourage innovations, as well as to support the implementation of the Development Concept “Azerbaijan 2020: Looking into the Future” and the “Strategic Roadmaps for National Economy and Main Sectors of Economy”.

The chairman of Council of Young Scientists and Specialists, PhD in Physics, associate professor Famin Salmanov opened the event and informed the participants of the event. He noted that, Academy is taking regular measures to strengthen and stimulate the scientific activities of young scientists, including improving their social conditions.

In addition, he emphasized that, young people actively participate in innovative projects and competitions of national and international importance and represent Azerbaijani science.

Then, head of the Department of the Ministry of Economy, secretary of the National Coordinating Council for Sustainable Development, Huseyn Huseynov emphasized the importance of innovation in ensuring sustainable economic development in our country, increasing competitiveness and export potential, as well as protecting the environment.

He noted that, the competition involved projects with innovative ideas that are economically viable and feasible. According to him, the competition will be held in various government bodies, organizations and enterprises for the implementation of projects approved by the evaluation committee.
