The event was attended by members and young employees of the Academic Council. The event was opened by the director of the Institute of Agricultural Sciences Dr. Zeynal Akperov, who gave detailed information about the scientific activity of the institution led by him.
In his speech, Z.Akperov said that the institute is given special attention on young staff and the average age of the scientific establishment is 50 years. In recent years the Institute was involved in about 60 young professionals. He noted that the decree of the Presidium of ANAS on 17 October 2013 “On the establishment of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists” promotes the integration of young people into the international research centers. During the event, by a vote of 15 persons were elected members of the Council. Institute’s PhD student Muhammad Eldarov was elected chairman of the board. Three employees from the Institute have been nominated for membership in the Council of young scientists and researchers of ANAS. In the event, Ph.D. in biology Mehradzh Abbasov gave a brief report on the activities of the Council of Young Scientists, established in 2006. M.Abbasov said that the main activities of the Council of young scientists are the expansion of international relations, the integration into the international scientific community, the development of new areas of biological and agricultural sciences in Azerbaijan, the introduction of modern methods and technologies, as well as attracting skilled and talented young people into science. It was noted that, over the past 5 years, 12 people from the young staff has been participants of international programs. Currently, five young researchers conduct research within the Erasmus Mundus program and Norman Borlaug Washington State University, the University of Göttingen (Germany), at the Tallinn State University (Estonia), Poznan University of life sciences (Poland). M.Abbasov said that the direct participation of young researchers of the Institute have been published over 30 international papers.
