Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

ANAS Institute of Zoology has been recived the copyright certificate by the Agency for Intellectual Property of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the usage of modern conservation equipment (via GPS) for the effective protection of rare and endangered birds in Azerbaijan. 

The Institute's staff placed small GPS for each bird's size (neck or back) between their feathers to better understand the birds and identify their location.

By using modern technology it will be possible to study the biology and lifestyle of rare and endangered birds in Azerbaijan, to ensure the conservation of biodiversity and to develop an action plan.
