Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

On September 23-25, the 4th International Congress of the Society of Physiologists of Georgia was held in Tbilisi.

The Congress was held by support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Georgia as part of the annual Festival of Science and Innovation. The event was attended by representatives from Sweden, Austria, Portugal, Bulgaria, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, etc.

The congress was attended by delegation of ANAS Institute of Physiology, headed by the Director of the institute, chairman of the Azerbaijan Society of Physiologists and an honorary member of the Georgian Physiological Society, Professor Ulduz Hashimova.

Professor U.Hashimova delivered a paper on the research program, the study of populations with a high index of longevity living in Azerbaijan. Report inspired a lot of interest among representatives of other countries. In particular, the Austrian scientist Professor Ursula Windberger and the Georgian researcher Professor Marina Nikalaishvili expressed their desire and willingness to cooperate in this direction.

At the end of the event, Director of the Center for Experimental Biomedicine, Professor David Nadareishvili was awarded a certificate of honorary member of the Azerbaijan Society of Physiologists.
