ANAS Nakhchivan Division presented new publications “Wild-growing and cultivated food plants of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic” and “Flora of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic - Capparaceae juss and Clemaceae Bercht.et J. Presl” published by the team of the Institute of Biological Resources of the Nakhchivan Division of ANAS.

Chairman of the Division, academician Ismail Hajiyev noted that, the Autonomous Republic boasts the greatest animal diversity and plant world in Azerbaijan. The scientist noted that, the main task facing the Institute of Bioresources is to study the characteristics of the country's natural resources and conduct large-scale research work.

Further, a paper on “A few words about the book “Wild and cultivated food plants of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic” was delivered by the leading researcher of the Institute, Doctor of Biology Fatmakhanim Nabieva.

Afruz Nasirova, Ph.D in Biology, senior researcher at the Institute delivered a paper on “Fundamental Work on the Flora of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic” and brought to the attention that, the system composition of the Capparaceae juss and Clemaceae families widespread in the region was clarified, biomorphological, isological and botanical studied -geographic features of species and their phytochemical composition.
