ANAS Nakhchivan Division held presentation of the monograph “Nakhchivan: political and socio-economic history (XIX-XX centuries)” by the scientific secretary of the Institute of History, Ethnography and Archeology, Ph.D in History, associate professor Yashar Rahimov.

Chairman of the Division, academician Ismail Hajiyev noted that, studying Azerbaijan history of the XIX-XX centuries is one of the important scientific directions in our historiography. The publication explores the socio-economic situation and the political history of Nakhchivan in the indicated period.

The book studies issues such as the emigration of Armenians to Nakhchivan in the 19th century and its consequences, the groundlessness of the territorial claims of the Armenians, the agricultural conditions in the region at the end of the century, academician added.

During the ceremony, a leading researcher at the Institute of History, Ethnography and Archeology, PhD in History Musa Guliev, head of the Department of Ancient and Medieval Archeology, PhD in History Togrul Khalilov delivered a speech.
