President of ANAS, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev met with the descendants of the prominent Azerbaijani writer and playwright Jalil Mammadguluzadeh, his great grandson who lives in Poland, Martin Javanshiri and his great-great-grandson Pshemislav Javanshiri.

The meeting was also attended by the vice-president of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbayli.

Speaking about the rich literary heritage of Jalil Mammadguluzadeh, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev said that the outstanding writer had great service to the people of Azerbaijan. Mirza Jalil tried in favor of Azerbaijani people in his stories and dramas, publicist works and fought for national independence. Numerous books, works and articles have been written about the writer.

The President of ANAS said that relations between Poland and Azerbaijan in various fields are present. He also noted that the Polish people have lived and created in Azerbaijan for many years and Polish architects have built historical buildings.

Academician Ramiz Mehdiyev said that long years of research had been carried out to find the descendants of Jalil Mammadguluzadeh. During their visit, all necessary conditions were created to get acquainted with the life and creativity of the great grandfather Jalil Mammadguluzadeh, he said.

Then academician Ramiz Mehdiyev donated Nakhchivan carpet to the guests.

Martin Javanshiri later shared his impressions about Azerbaijan. He said he was visiting our country for the first time and was greeted with great interest.

Martin Javanshir thanked academician Ramiz Mehdiyev for their acceptance in ANAS.
