Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Institute of Science History of ANAS published the monograph dubbed “Sources and Historiography of Medical History of Azerbaijan”.

The authors of the monograph are the director of the Institute of History of Science, Doctor of Historical Sciences Associate Professor Maryam Seyidbayli, employees of the Institute are PhDs in History Bayram Guliyev and Solmaz Namazova, scientific editor is academic - secretary of the Division of Social Sciences of ANAS academician Nargiz Akhundova.

The monograph, which is the first in the history of Azerbaijani science, investigates the sources and historiography of all aspects of medical history in Azerbaijan from ancient times to the present. The work consists of two chapters. The first one is about sources, classification of sources and their authors. The second section, which preserves chronological sequence, dedicated to the history of medicine.

Manuscripts, multilingual resources and contemporary researches were extensively used in the preparation of the book.

The monograph is intended for students, graduates, doctoral students, historians and a wide range of readers.
